Six new partners are joining the “Doenkracht program” of a.s.r., a program focused on financial self-reliance and social engagement. As part of the program, they will receive training from Impact House by Grant Thornton, where they will learn to measure the impact of their activities.
These new collaborations will run until 1 January, 2026, with the intention to extend them for multiple years thereafter. With this, a.s.r. underlines its ambition to make the Netherlands more financially resilient. COO Ingrid de Swart, in her role as an ambassador of the program, was present at the signing of the contracts with the new partners.
a.s.r. has made the strategic choice to prioritise financial self-reliance and inclusion. By supporting projects and programs in the cities where it operates, a.s.r. helps people to get out and stay out of debt in a sustainable way. The six new partners participating in the Doenkracht program are based in three of these cities, namely Enschede, Groningen, and Utrecht. They are Kansrijk Groningen, Huis van Verhalen Enschede, De Tussenvoorziening, U Centraal, FC Utrecht Foundation, and JobHulpMaatje Enschede.
An example of the impact these partners can make: with the help of trained volunteers, JobHulpMaatje offers personal guidance and training to job seekers, helping them improve their skills and increase their chances in the job market. The guidance focuses not only on finding work but also on boosting self-confidence and expanding the social network of the participants. a.s.r. supports this organisation, among other things, by increasing awareness among job seekers with financial concerns.
Ingrid de Swart, COO at a.s.r.: ‘It is fantastic that these six new partners, each committed to addressing the debt problem in the Netherlands, are joining the Doenkracht program. By learning from each other and working together, we can make an even greater difference and contribute to a financially resilient Netherlands. The organisations immediately rolled up their sleeves and started working with Impact House for the first time, which was great and fun to get to know each other in this way.’
With the addition of these six new partners, a.s.r. now has ten partners participating in the Doenkracht program.
